Make a third theme that looks clearly different using only the theme: blue, based on the blue of the app icon and inspired by the KDE Nord theme, with other shapes such as round corners. It goes in the theme picker from #42, so do that first.

Colours

  • From the icon (icon.svg):
    • background gradient #6fb1d6 → #2e6a94;
    • plate rim #3b6ea5;
    • window panes #2f5d86.
  • Nord palette:
    • Polar Night #2E3440 #3B4252 #434C5E #4C566A for backgrounds and panels;
    • Snow Storm #D8DEE9 #E5E9F0 #ECEFF4 for text;
    • Frost #8FBCBB #88C0D0 #81A1C1 #5E81AC for accents;
    • Aurora #BF616A #D08770 #EBCB8B #A3BE8C for wrong/right, points and the winner.
  • Mix: Polar Night backgrounds, Frost and icon blues as the accent instead of today's orange, and a warm accent (Aurora orange/yellow, or the icon's falu red #c63b2f) for "playing now" and highlights.

Shapes

These are all StyleBoxFlat settings, so no code changes:

  • large corner radius on panels and popups (12–16px);
  • pill-shaped buttons and tabs (radius = half the height);
  • soft shadows on popups and cards (shadow_size, shadow_color);
  • thin 1px borders, or none;
  • more content margins;
  • rounded scroll bars and slider grabbers.

Icons in icons/ (play, restart, add player, knobs) are images outside the theme and may look off on blue. Recolour them by modulate from the theme, or make blue variants.

Plan

  • themes/nord_theme.tres: start from main_theme.tres, keep every named style and add it to the theme list.
  • Make 2–3 quick colour variants as screenshots (tools/take_screenshots.gd) and pick one before polishing all styles.
  • The ScoreGraph player colours need 7 distinct colours that work on the blue background (Aurora + Frost).
  • test_theme.gd already checks the styles once the theme picker exists.

Questions

  • Nord-dark (dark grey-blue background) or a lighter, bluer look closer to the icon?
  • Should this become the default theme if it turns out well?

It goes in the theme picker from #42, so do that first. ## Colours - **From the icon** (`icon.svg`): - background gradient `#6fb1d6` → `#2e6a94`; - plate rim `#3b6ea5`; - window panes `#2f5d86`. - **Nord palette:** - Polar Night `#2E3440 #3B4252 #434C5E #4C566A` for backgrounds and panels; - Snow Storm `#D8DEE9 #E5E9F0 #ECEFF4` for text; - Frost `#8FBCBB #88C0D0 #81A1C1 #5E81AC` for accents; - Aurora `#BF616A #D08770 #EBCB8B #A3BE8C` for wrong/right, points and the winner. - **Mix:** Polar Night backgrounds, Frost and icon blues as the accent instead of today's orange, and a warm accent (Aurora orange/yellow, or the icon's falu red `#c63b2f`) for "playing now" and highlights. ## Shapes These are all `StyleBoxFlat` settings, so no code changes: - large corner radius on panels and popups (12–16px); - pill-shaped buttons and tabs (radius = half the height); - soft shadows on popups and cards (`shadow_size`, `shadow_color`); - thin 1px borders, or none; - more content margins; - rounded scroll bars and slider grabbers. Icons in `icons/` (play, restart, add player, knobs) are images outside the theme and may look off on blue. Recolour them by `modulate` from the theme, or make blue variants. ## Plan - `themes/nord_theme.tres`: start from `main_theme.tres`, keep every named style and add it to the theme list. - Make 2–3 quick colour variants as screenshots (`tools/take_screenshots.gd`) and pick one before polishing all styles. - The `ScoreGraph` player colours need 7 distinct colours that work on the blue background (Aurora + Frost). - `test_theme.gd` already checks the styles once the theme picker exists. ## Questions - Nord-dark (dark grey-blue background) or a lighter, bluer look closer to the icon? - Should this become the default theme if it turns out well?
